Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

• Will serve as the company-wide culinary expert accomplishing corporate culinary goals and objectives. Work closely with the public relations team as the culinary spokesperson on both trade and consumer levels and support the sales divisions through targeted and selective customer contact and resource development.

PRIMARY RESPONSABILITIES

• Participates as the spokesperson/chef for the brand as needed inside special projects, events, and promotions.
• Acts as a spokesperson for media opportunities arising in target markets and nationally.
• Acts as primary liaison with culinary schools. Develops opportunities for affecting curriculum and scholarship programs.
• Coordinates menu development for company seminars and hosting of special guests.

Develops recipes for promotion of targeted cuts and value-added products; exclusive and non-exclusive recipes for target market areas; and recipes for publication to media.

KEY ACTIVITIES

• Participate in Marketing-Communications planning and strategy sessions
• Participate in weekly meeting with Director of Marketing-Communications.
• Responsible for complying to all Safe Quality Food (SQF) polices/procedures and requirements for position.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Understanding of the restaurant business environment, anticipates menu trends and changes, and develops strategies to capitalize on sales growth opportunities and ensure long-term restaurant brand growth.
• Strong presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff, licensees, media and consumers
• Ability to develop a marketing strategy around the culinary aspect
• Professional and customer-service oriented
• Very strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to show initiative, provide direction, and work with others as part of a coordinated team
• Ability to function effectively under pressure
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize among assignments
• Capability to work effectively in deadline situations and flexibility regarding hours
• Ability to be proactive in solving/preventing problems

Proficient use of computers, e-mail, and the Internet

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Creativity in the kitchen; in presenting and in creating marketing programs
• English fluency- Spanish is a plus.

WORK ENVIROMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• The work environment for this role can either be in an kitchen setting, or on the road with some travel. This role requires standing or walking for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and regularly lifting up to 15 pounds.
